OUR HISTORY

Welcome to Little Sisters of the Gold Rose!

Little Sisters of the Gold Rose (LSGR) was established at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1992. Our purpose is to provide a space for members to interact on a social and academic level with the objective of dedication towards the betterment of the community through service. We also wish to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for members to grow intellectually, emotionally, morally, and physically.

The symbols chosen to represent the organization are the rose, the crescent moon, the candle, and the shield. The rose symbolizes friendship, which is everlasting. The crescent moon represents perseverance, because we as Little Sisters never give up on each other. The candle stands for knowledge, in the fact of knowing you are never alone. The shield itself pulls each one of these separate entities together as a whole, just like our organization pulls all of us together.

The colors that make up the crest and represent the Little Sisters of the Gold Rose are maroon and gold.
